The chief investment officer of Morley Fund Management, who in 2004 promised she would turn around the group's equity performance in two years, has resigned.

Katherine Garrett-Cox, who joined Morley in March 2004 from Aberdeen Asset Management, leaves at the end of March to join Alliance Trust in Dundee, Scotland as chief investment officer.
