MPs call for parliamentary debate over FCA failings

Debate needed to discuss what measures might be needed to get the financial watchdog ‘fit for purpose’

A group of MPs is calling for a parliamentary debate to discuss shortcomings at the UK financial regulator, after claiming two damning reports published in the past week “provide irrefutable evidence that the FCA is failing to regulate effectively”.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Personal Banking and Fairer Financial Services said that a debate is needed to discuss what measures might be needed to get the FCA “fit for purpose”.
