Bear Stearns International has hired Mohamed Mughal from Abbey National Treasury Services to head its quantitative research, sales and marketing businesses.

Mughal, who worked in structured products at Abbey National and was at Lehman Brothers before that, will report to Simon Bird, head of European portfolio trading and electronic connectivity.
