Myners believes UK soft commission debate has 'hit treacle'

Paul Myners, the author of a report on the investment industry published in March 2001, believes that discussions on one of his most controversial proposals, the unbundling of soft commissions, has 'run into treacle' under heavy lobbying from investment banks.

His comments came during evidence he was giving on Tursday to the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee's inquiry into restoring confidence in long-term savings.
