Nasdaq acquires financial data provider for $700m

The exchange operator Nasdaq is spending $705m to acquire eVestment, a data provider used by some of the world's largest investors, in a move designed to expand its information services business.

Buying eVestment will give Nasdaq access to more than 2,000 clients, including the largest pension funds, their investment managers and consultants, the exchange said.
