Newhouse takes over as Morgan Stanley president

Stephan Newhouse will take over as president of Morgan Stanley in December, replacing Robert Scott who is to retire.

Newhouse has been appointed to the firm's number two post ahead of Vikram Pandit. Until now the two have co-headed the bank's securities division. Pandit will continue as sole head of the unit.
