Alpha Investement Management, the hedge fund provider, has appointed Thomas Taylor as its new chief executive, chief investment officer and president.

Taylor has over 30 years experience in the asset management and hedge fund industry. He oversaw the investments of the Bass family, the owners of the brewing group, using a variety of market neutral investments. Nicholas Berggruen, previously held the responsibility of Taylor's roles, has been made chairman of the firm.
