News in brief: Emerging markets boom

Emerging market bond issuance grew by more than a third in the first half of this year compared with the same period last year. Volume reached $57.3bn (e51bn) according to Dealogic, the data provider.

Latin American issuers were the biggest contributors, accounting for 37% of total emerging markets volume. United Mexican States and Pemex led the charge and were the two biggest issuers across the sector. Issuance in emerging Europe grew the fastest. Volume rose 104% year on year. KTurkey was the third-largest emerging market issuer in the first half of the year.
