Gerrard, the UK private client group, has appointed Tim May as its chief operating officer, from Investec Group, where he was head of IT and settlements in the UK.

The firm has also hired Mike Bolsover as human resources and business strategy director from HSBC, and Jonathan Sieff as products and services director from its sister company Gerrard Private Bank. Jim Julyan also joins as sales and marketing director, having previously worked for Old Mutual's South Africa operations.
