Credit Suisse First Boston has promoted Neil Harvey to head its investment banking operation in Asia after the resignation last month of Alastair Walton.

As head of investment banking for the region excluding Japan, Harvey will be responsible for CSFB corporate advisory business as well as both its debt and equity capital markets teams, and all the related specialist product groups. Harvey continues as head of both the bank's Asian emerging markets group and its emerging markets' coverage group which manages client coverage and trading of fixed income and derivative products, a post he took up in January. Harvey has no immediate plans to hand over either of these posts.
