News in brief: Morgan Stanley Quilter appoints Scottish team

Morgan Stanley Quilter, the UK-based private wealth management firm, has boosted its newly opened Glasgow office with four appointments, all of whom join from rival fund manager Gerrard, the private client group which Old Mutual bought last year.

Alan Cameron takes up the role as managing director of the office, supported by Jonathan Wright and Chris Timlett, both divisional directors. Alan Storton joins as regional sales manager for Scotland and will be responsible for marketing and services of Morgan Stanley Quilter to intermediaries. Morgan Stanley Quilter, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, has £4.6bn (€7.4bn) in assets under management worldwide.
