Rathbones, UK-based the private client investment manager, has appointed Paul Egerton-Vernon to its board of directors and as chairman of its trust division.

Egerton-Vernon will be responsible for developing the firm's trust business. Previously, he was chairman and partner at Nigel Harris & Partners, which was acquired by Rathbones in April last year, for more than 20 years
