SunGard Institutional Brokerage, the broking software arm of SunGard, has become a member of Swift, the bank-owned telecommunications network that supplies secure, standardised messaging services to 7,500 financial institutions in 200 countries.

Clients using the software will be able to send and receive messages to and from counterparties using the secure network rather than the telephone or a proprietary means of communication. SunGard is also offering clients an outsourcing service that will manage their communications sent over the Swift network.
