News in brief: Thames River boosts sales team

Thames River Capital, the hedge fund provider, has boosted its sales team with two additional hires.

Fiona Palmer, formerly at Royal SunAlliance, will be responsible for Africa, the Middle East and Latin America and Alex Kupier, formerly of JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management, will join as an analyst in the multi-manager division. Thames River was formed in 1998 and manages eight open-ended funds, both hedge funds and traditional products, with assets of $1.2bn (€1.3bn). The firm has 38 staff, including 12 investment professionals.
