Tibco, a software company owned by Reuters, has initiated legal proceedings against Sonic Software to obtain a temporary restraining order requiring that Sonic Software discontinues distribution of a White Paper documenting comparative product performance.

Tibco claims Sonic's use of Tibco's software to run the performance tests and subsequent publication of the White Paper violates terms of their licence agreement, and that the results are false and misleading. Sonic intends to challenge the claims and stands by the findings in the White Paper.
