Newton promotes fixed income head Morrissey to CEO

Helena Morrissey, fixed income chief at Newton Investment Management, is to take over from Colin Harris as chief executive following a string of departures and staff changes at the UK investment house.

Newton, owned by Mellon Global Investments, has also promoted senior institutional fund manager Jeff Munroe to the pivotal role of chief investment officer replacing Charles Richardson. Munroe was previously responsible for managing the segregated portfolio team which last month won £600m ($1bn) of new mandates.
