US investment firm Piper Jaffray is understood to have lifted two biotech analysts and five sales people out of Nomura, the Japanese bank.

A Nomura spokesman confirmed that Sam Fazeli, a high-profile industry commentator and fellow analyst Julie Simmonds both left the bank yesterday.
