The Norwegian government has proposed a series of privatisations that could raise at least Nkr120bn (€16bn), a bonanza for bankers covering the region over the next few years.
One banker covering the Nordic region said the sales do not contain any surprises but that it is a positive move that the government has confirmed its intentions. He said: "The government does not need the money so will carry out the sales when it makes sense from a corporate and capital markets perspective. Is it important for them to sell to improve liquidity and valuations and facilitate access to the capital for both institutional and retail investors."
