Hedge fund manager and philanthropist Nicolai Tangen has been appointed the next chief executive of Norges Bank Investment Management, the group responsible for managing Norway’s almost $1tn in oil wealth.

Norwegian Tangen is currently based in London, serving as chief executive and chief investment officer at AKO Capital, the hedge fund he established in 2005. He has been based in the City for the last 28 years.
