Nymex plans London floor trading in 'four to six months'

The New York Mercantile Exchange, the commodities market, is hoping to open a trading floor in London in as little as four months and has applied to the Financial Services Authority, the UK regulator, to become a recognised exchange in the UK.

A spokeswoman for the exchange said Nymex expected the regulator to approve its application "in the next four to six months". She said open outcry trading would start as soon as the approval was granted.
