NYSE calls in Wall Street heavyweights

The New York Stock Exchange has reportedly appointed Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley to manage its first public stock offering, expected this month. Goldman Sachs, which led the NYSE's merger with Archipelago, will not play a role.

The Wall Street Journal reports that no decision has yet been taken on which of the banks will take the traditional lead underwriting role on the sale.
