Exchange giant NYSE Euronext has taken a step forward in its bid to establish its fledgling European dark pool trading system by signing up three large brokers to use the service.

The transatlantic exchange said this morning that Bank of America Merrill Lynch, agency broker CA Cheuvreux and a third unnamed investment bank have signed up to use SmartPool, its dark pool.
