NYSE lists first FTSE 100 company in 2002

Allied Domecq, the world's second largest spirits company, is the first FTSE 100 company to list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) this year.

No new shares were issued in the company, which has a market capitalisation of around $6.6bn (€6.7bn). The US is Allied Domecq's largest market and the listing was designed to expand the company's local shareholder base. Clifford Chance, the lawyers, and KPMG, the professional services firm, were the main advisers on the listing. JP Morgan Chase acted as the depositary bank.
