NYSE to use Swift tool

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is to use SwiftNet Fix, a newly launched communications tool from the Society for Worldwide Interbank Telecommunications (Swift), enabling information to be shared between brokers, fund managers and exchanges.

The connection will give Swift customers represented by NYSE member firms direct access to the exchange's network of order-execution services, called Network NYSE. Network NYSE is an electronic trading platform similar to an electronic communications network (ECN). The move advances NYSE's strategy to provide global investors additional choice on how they access the stocks listed on its exchange.
