Simon Brickles, the former head of London's Alternative Investment Market, is to become chief executive of Ofex, the UK smaller companies exchange.

His appointment comes as Ofex embarks on a restructuring plan. It has re-named itself Plus Markets Group and unveiled a fundraising plan to see off insolvency.
