The hire of star UK equity manager Richard Buxton by Old Mutual Global Investors helped boost its gross fund sales by 79% to £2 billion in the three months to September, against the same quarter in 2012.
Former Schroders manager Buxton joined London-based OMGI in June, along with three members of his team. OMGI confirmed that his UK Alpha was among the funds to enjoy a surge in sales, along with Global Equity Absolute Return, UK Small Companies, UK Mid-Cap and a range of risk-targeted funds called Spectrum.
