Independent investment bank Ondra Partners is set to lay off around a quarter of its staff as co-founder Michael Tory steps away because of illness.

Tory, a well-known dealmaker in the City and the former head of UK investment banking at Lehman Brothers, will stand down from the day-to-day running of the firm for the foreseeable future, according to a person familiar with the matter.
