Ontario scheme picks alternatives head as CEO

The Canadian pension plan's current chief executive said earlier this year that it was now in a position to 'absorb a little more risk'

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has appointed the head of its alternative investments unit as its new chief executive, at a time when the Canadian scheme is looking to "absorb a little more risk".

Ontario Teachers said In a statement yesterday that Ron Mock, currently head of fixed income and alternative investments at the scheme, will succeed Jim Leech as president and chief executive on January 1 2014.
