Lane Clark & Peacock, the actuarial consultancy, has hired Gavin Orpin from Barclays Capital's pensions advice team as a partner.

Orpin, a liability-driven investment specialist with expertise in interest rate and inflation swaps, will advise pension schemes and corporates on strategy and manager selection.
