P&O Princess tries to flush out firm offer from Carnival

P&O Princess has extended by six weeks a shareholder vote for its merger with Royal Caribbean Cruises in an attempt to force Carnival into either making a formal offer for P&O Princess or ruling itself out of a merger.

P&O Princess, the world's third-largest cruise operator, advised by Schroder Salomon Smith Barney, has issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to its merger agreement with Royal Caribbean Cruises.
