P&O to float £5.5bn cruise business

P&O is to split itself in two and seek separate stock exchange listings for its cruise business in London and New York towards the end of this year, reports the Financial Times.

The cruise business, provisionally called P&O Princess after the UK and US cruise brands, is the world's third biggest. In 1998 it made operating profits of £216m.
