Pension funds look to cut consultant fees

Fee structures are becoming more performance based, as trustees try to clamp down on rising management fees

Pension trustees are looking at ways to cut the rising cost of running pension schemes, with performance-based fees the increasingly popular solution.

In a survey of pension executives by fiduciary manager SEI, 70% are looking to make changes to pension scheme management. "When looking to cut costs, more companies are looking at the fees being paid for strategic advice and whether or not that advice addresses the overall needs of the scheme," the survey said.
