Hedge fund financier Arki Busson, well-known for his celebrity connections and charity work, was this week reported to be in talks with asset managers with a view to selling or merging EIM, his fund of hedge funds business. Bloomberg reports that assets at the fund have fallen to almost half of their $14bn peak. An outright sale would be a surprising move by the charismatic Frenchman, who told Financial News 18 months ago that he was looking at several acquisitions and wanted to buy two funds of funds.
