Perella Weinberg promotes first London partner in five years

Healthcare banker who co-founded a pharma company before working for JP Morgan becomes boutique's first London-based banker to rise to partner since 2010

Perella Weinberg promotes first London partner in five years

A healthcare banker who joined Perella Weinberg from JP Morgan in 2012 and co-founded a pharmaceutical company earlier in his career has become the first London-based banker in five years to be promoted to partner at the boutique. Boutique investment bank Perella Weinberg has elevated one of its London-based bankers to partner status, the first time a City name has appeared on the list since 2010.

Nick Johnston, who advised the 'female Viagra' maker Sprout Pharmaceuticals on its $1 billion sale to Valeant Phamaceuticals over the summer this year and advised the medical technology firm CareFusion on its $12.2 billion sale to rival Becton Dickinson in 2014, was among five executives at Perella Weinberg to be elevated to partner, with effect from January 1, 2016.
