Philipp quits Credit Suisse to start own firm

Credit Suisse’s most senior Middle East banker is leaving to launch his own investment management and advisory services firm as part of a reshuffle of the Swiss bank’s emerging markets business.

Michael Philipp will this week relinquish his role as chairman of Middle East and Africa and chairman of the bank’s environmental business group. The departure is amicable and Credit Suisse will invest in his venture, people familiar with the situation said.
