Phoenix Equity Partners, the UK private equity house that owns fashion chain LK Bennett, has hired a former executive at troubled rival Candover Partners, as it builds its team in the wake of a successful fundraising.

The appointment comes less than a month after Candover executives folded the buyout house into a new firm, Arle Capital Partners, following high-profile problems at Candover's listed investment arm.
