M&G has named Simon Pilcher as head of the integrated Prudential Portfolio Managers (PPM) and M&G fixed interest teams, following the purchase of M&G by Prudential in 1999.

M&G has split its clients into two business areas called the external and internal groups. Pilcher, who was head of the PPM fixed income team, will be overall head of the two groups of clients. He will report, for investment performance, to Vivian Bazalgette, chief investment officer. He joined PPM from Morgan Grenfell Asset Management in 1998.
