Piper Jaffray hires Robertson Stephens team

US Bancorp Piper Jaffray, the US investment bank, has hired a 14-strong convertibles team from Robertson Stephens, the boutique technology investment bank shut down by FleetBoston in July.

The investment banking, sales and trading staff will join the firm's existing convertibles team in San Francisco. Daniel White and Brandon Dyson, managing directors, will co-lead the team. Dyson will head the origination and restructuring, while White will oversee sales and trading. Other managing directors include Eric Alt, Ethan Fanshel, David Fullerton, Brian Sullivan and Jeffrey Winaker.
