BNP Paribas has elected Helène Ploix and Gerhard Cromme as board directors following the resignation of Bernd Farholz and René Thomas.

Ploix becomes the only woman on BNP Paribas' board. A former president of Association Francaise de Capital Investissement (AFIC), the French venture capital association, she is the head of Pechel Industries, a Paris-based private equity house. She is also a member of the board of Lafarge, Boots and a member of the supervisory board of Publicis, the advertising group.
