The Metropolitan Police is investigating the death of man after a body was found in a trench in Canary Wharf, one of London's main financial districts.

Police were called at 08:46 am with reports that a body had been found at a construction site on Bank Street. A spokesman for the Met said: "The body of a man had been found after apparently falling into a deep trench at the location."
