Political donations are divided

A sharp divide has emerged in the support for the three main political parties from the financial services sector in the two months that followed the UK general election in May.

The Conservative Party, which was brought to power for the first time in 13 years and is led by prime minister David Cameron (pictured), received a total of £1,039,100 from donors identified as financiers or financial firms in the eight-week period that followed May 6.
