Private equity consortium buys Fauchon

A consortium of private equity firms and individual investors have acquired Fauchon, France's best-known delicatessen company.

The consortium comprises Barclays Private Equity, the UK and French buy-out firm, Matignon Investissement, the French firm, and Intermediate Capital Group, the mezzanine firm. The individual investors include the Ducros family, which founded and gave its name to France's largest spice production company.
