Private equity firm Carlyle loses UK property chief

The firm held a close for its first European real estate fund in a decade last year

A senior member of Carlyle Group’s real estate arm has left the alternative investment giant as it plays catch-up with its rivals in the European property market.

Mark Harris, a managing director and head of Carlyle’s UK real estate team, left the firm at the beginning of the year after a near-15-year stint in which he helped build out Carlyle’s presence in European real estate, a spokeswoman for Carlyle said.
