Private equity firms holding on for longer

Buyout houses across Europe and the US are having to work harder to generate returns in an environment of record-high asset prices, FN's sister publication Private Equity News reports.

It means longer holding periods for investments, according to the latest Global Private Equity Report from consultancy Bain and Co. Bain found acquisition multiples reached record highs in the US in 2016, trumping prices paid in the pre-crisis boom years.
