Latham & Watkins has added a fundraising specialist as partner at its London office, as US legal firms continue to make strides in the London private equity market.

Nick Benson, who joins from fellow US law firm Weil Gotshal & Manges, specialises in fund formation and fundraising particularly for private equity firms, and advised BC Partners on its €6.5 billion fundraising in 2012, according to a statement on Weil's website at the time. He joined Weil in 2011, having spent nearly a decade at UK Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance.
