UK private equity funds continue to outperform UK pension schemes and the main stock market indices over the medium to long term, according to figures from the British Venture Capital Association and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The study compared private equity returns from venture, buy-out and generalist funds with data from the WM Company's All Funds Universe, which aggregates the holdings of over 1,000 UK pension schemes.
