Xavier Rolet, who will succeed Clara Furse as chief executive of the London Stock Exchange in May, began his career in the financial services industry 25 years ago at Goldman Sachs and has held senior positions in the equity trading businesses of some of Europe's top banks.
Rolet, who was named today as a successor to Furse, most recently led the French business of now-collapsed bank Lehman Brothers- a role he held since 2007 when he replaced Guillaume d 'Hauteville.
