The wonderfully named Foresight Directorate of the UK's Department of Trade and Industry features a 'blue-skies' think-tank called the Tomorrow Project, whose aim is to contemplate the future.

The project's own future may be uncertain, since one of the largest contributors to this Blairite venture is accounting giant Andersen, which is facing a wave of litigation over the Enron scandal.
