PwC appoints director of merger and competition economics

PricewaterhouseCoopers has appointed the former chief economist at the UK Office of Fair Trading as a director of merger and competition economics.

Peter Bamford spent five years as chief economist at the Office of Fair Trading. He first joined the OFT in 1988, and before that he was at the Department of Trade and Industry. He has worked as an economic adviser at the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, and for three years was head of economic advice in the OFT Mergers Secretariat.
