Knight's quest for value

Shareholder activist's mission is to realise gains in undervalued European firms

European companies that are fundamentally sound but undervalued and with poor governance practices can expect Eric Knight to come calling.

Knight is managing director of Knight Vinke Asset Management, a €300m ($361m) dedicated shareholder activist vehicle launched last year. Its mission is to realise gains at undervalued Western European companies and is backed by the California Public Employees' Retirement System, the largest US public pension fund.
